Peter is our Chairman, he advises law firms on their growth strategy, including international alliances and mergers. He also serves as a coach and confidential sounding board for law firm leaders around the world and is a popular law firm retreat speaker.

 

He led the growth of Clifford Chance in Asia (opening their Singapore office), Europe (as Regional Managing Partner) and the US (leading the New York merger), before becoming the firm´s Global Managing Partner.

As a leader, he was responsible for reviewing and restructuring the business – introducing a new strategy, structure and governance and remuneration approach.

​

On leaving Clifford Chance, Peter was hired by the private equity fund Terra Firma as the Managing Director responsible for developing and managing relationships with all major stakeholders including its limited partners, lending relationships, government and regulatory officials, senior corporate officials and board members. He was responsible for developing strategies for improving its portfolio companies’ access to capital, access to deals and potential add-on acquisitions. He also chaired the Funds’ Advisory Boards, and was a member of the General Partners’ Board.

In 2011, he became a Founding Partner of Metric Capital being one of the three founders of this ‘Special Situation Fund’ targeting mid-sized companies throughout Europe. The fund has approximately $2 billion in assets under management.

Now that he is a buyer of sophisticated legal services, Peter is particularly interested in the way law firms sell their services. He is a popular speaker on the do´s and dont´s of pitching, and sharing with humour his insights from both sides of the fence.
