Mari Cruz is our Head of Client Management & Legal Innovation. A lawyer by training, she advises law firms as they modernise, seek growth and enter new markets through alliances and mergers.

 

She was the co-founder of Iberian Legal Group, serving as their CEO from 2011.

 

Passionate about service provision, client satisfaction, innovation and change, Mari Cruz has been an Associate Professor at IE Business School in Madrid for over a decade - teaching on the MBA and executive education programs. She also taught the Law Unplugged course at IE Law School.

She specialises in talent development,  Key Account Management and performance in the legal sector. 

 

More recently, Mari Cruz became a member of faculty at the Financial Times IE Corporate Learning Alliance. Her clients have included, amongst others, Axa Insurance, BBVA, Mahou San Miguel, Mapfre, Melia Hotels, Repsol and Pepsico.

 

Mari Cruz qualified as a lawyer in Barcelona before training and accreditation as a mediator at the Centre for Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in London – Europe´s largest centre for commercial dispute resolution – where she was recruited by their business development team.

 

She was subsequently Head of Development at Southwark Mediation Centre, then the employment dispute mediator for Brighton & Hove Council. Over the years, she has assisted parties in over 300 mediations across employment, civil and commercial disputes.

Returning to Spain in 2005, Mari Cruz launched of Iberian Lawyer and The Latin American Lawyer magazines as well as the In-House Club for the GCs of the 500 leading Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American businesses. She supports start-up projects with IE Law School and Banc Sabadell Venture Network.
