Lexington has been quoted by Law.com in coverage examining the proposed transatlantic combination between Ashurst and Perkins Coie

The proposed merger would create a three-continent firm spanning the U.S., UK and Australia, with approximately $2.7bn in revenue and 3,000 lawyers across 23 countries. The departure of some Perkins Coie partners has already sparked a debate over the joint opportunity.

In the article, Moray Mclaren reflects on the realities of large-scale law firm mergers, noting that attrition at this stage is not unusual:

“Some Perkins Coie partners will leave that’s not unusual in a merger of this scale. You simply can’t please all of the people, all of the time. The real question isn’t whether there’s attrition, but whether the firm retains the people and client relationships that matter most to the future strategy.”
